This weekend: Comedy fest, book fest, craft beer week

FRIDAY

: the annual eugene mirman comedy festival takes over the bell house and union hall for four days with guests neil degrasse tyson, john hodgman, ira glass, jessi klein, leo allen, michael showalter, hannibal buress, marc maron, sarah vowell, more. $10-20.

7-10pm: join fellow brokelynites at mission dolores for brokelyn’s t-shirt launch party. free to hang, but a $20 t-shirt gets you 2-for-1 beers, plus other 2-for-1 deals when you wear it (robicelli’s cupcakes, drinks at bocca lupo, ropes class at brooklyn borders, more).

9pm (+ sat): fashion, live music, theatre and dance are combined for the 9th annual williamsburg fashion weekend. windmill studios nyc (287 kent ave.), $10.

SATURDAY
11am-1pm: pay what you like for homer fink’s hidden brooklyn heights walking tour.

12-11pm: paper garden records’ ‘multiverse playground‘ combines a music festival with comedy and interactive art. free vitamin water and pbr all day. 104 emerson place (clinton hill), $8.

7pm-midnight: cobble hill csa local roots hosts its first-ever food + music fest: cooking demos, a mozzarella-making lesson and performances by heavens gate, air waves, more. $7.

11pm: drum + bass musician-producer ltj bukem brings the beats to brooklyn bowl, $10 adc, $12 dos.

SUNDAY
9/18 10am-6pm
: brooklyn’s been the most literary borough since walt witman settled in brooklyn heights. follow in his footsteps at the annual brooklyn book festival where dozens of authors take part in free lectures + readings.

12-10pm: bikers and body-art aficionados convene at the 25th annual tattoo + motorcycle show @ coney island usa (free). plus, the last freakshow of the season @ 6pm ($10).

5-8pm: $1 from each beer and skee-ball game at skee for md goes to raise funds for the muscular dystrophy association at williamsburg’s full circle bar. raffles, prizes, giveaways, plus free cupcakes from kumquat cupcakery. 318 grand st off havemeyer, free admission.

8pm: ‘under pressure’ queen + david bowie sing-along! themed drinks, costume contest, and a pre-show screening of clips. union hall, $8.

ALL WEEKEND
thru 9/25: most events during ny craft beer week are pricey, but you can still enjoy quality brews for just $3 each at 110 bars across the boroughs with purchase of a $10 passport.
