This weekend: Derbytaunt ball, pie bike ride, Minn. state fair

FRIDAY
7pm: new skaters get assigned to their teams at the gotham girls roller derby annual blow-out: the derbytaunt ball. free brooklyn brewery beer from 7-8pm. littlefield, $10.

7-10pm: opening reception for exhibition of slice harvester‘s hundreds of his photos of pizza slices and pizzerias. free slices from local pizza joints. city reliquary, free.

8pm (thru 4/2): rabbit hole ensemble‘s doctor frankenstein’s magical creature reimagines mary shelley’s monster as a woman. old first reformed church (729 carroll @ 7th ave.), $18.

SATURDAY
2pm: support the prospect park bike lane at time’s up’s ides (pies) of march ride. ride ends in a pie fight! meets at grand army plaza, free.

7-10pm: opening reception for the 40oz show, where 40+ artists customized 40oz beer bottles. mf gallery, free.

8pm: pogues tribute band the fauxges play the rock shop’s st. patty’s day party. bonus: live band karaoke. $7.

SUNDAY
all day: happy macaron day! 16 participating bakeries in manhattan, brooklyn and queens give out free macarons while supplies last.

3pm: the bell house’s state fair series continues with minnesota: comedy, minnesota beers, the minnesota-owned mexicue and cake + shake food trucks, a food-on-a-stick competition, and a special appearance by sentator al franken (!). free.

8pm: april smith + the great picture show play brooklyn bowl, free.
