You guys like TV? Yeah, we do too, in theory anyway. We can’t afford one, nor can we afford cable. But we still keep up, thanks to DVDs and Netflix and The Pirate Bay Hulu. So that’s why we can be as excited about this TV news as people who own TVs will be: Michael K. Williams, previously known as Omar, future ODB and currently known as Albert “Chalky” White is coming to Bed-Stuy’s Bedford Hall (1177 Bedford Avenue) on Sunday night to watch the season finale of Boardwalk Empire.
Wait, seriously, Omar Little himself coming to just hang out and watch TV with plebes like you and me? Yes indeed. Sorry, we haven’t watched much Boardwalk Empire so we don’t have a Chalky reference handy. From what we understand, the show is about the contentious history of the building of the Long Beach boardwalk, right?
There’s the flyer hyping the appearance. We talked to a bartender about Williams’ appearance, and she told us that he would be there to watch Boardwalk Empire and just hang out, starting at 8pm. So you can finally give him all those Wire fan fiction scripts you’ve been writing. On second though, don’t do that, burn them instead.
Of course, Williams is no stranger to Brooklyn, seeing as how he’s from here and pops up sometimes to show Anthony Bourdain around and show off the skills that got him the starring role in the Ol’ Dirty Bastard biopic.
