The Muppets are coming (to tonight’s Cyclones game)!

Like this, but in Coney Island

What’s green, plays the banjo and hits Coney Island this Monday?  No, not you after scarfing too many Nathan’s dogs and riding the Cyclone – Kermit the Frog!  On Monday, August 4, Kermit and friends will make a special appearance at MCU Park as the Brooklyn Cyclones take on the hated Connecticut Tigers. Fresh off being revealed as the reason that you moved to New York City, the Muppets will be trying to bring some luck to the Cyclones in their pennant chase.

People heading out to root for the home team can expect to see Waldorf & Statler heckling fans from their suite, Gonzo singing a rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” Animal featured as a sideline reporter, and Kermit and Miss Piggy on the Kiss Cam (better not let Kermie’s porky princess learn that pigskin is used in manufacturing ball gloves). Sweetums has the honor of throwing out the first pitch, but sadly I guess Beaker didn’t pass his audition for game announcer…

The Muppets will also be performing comedy sketches, giving prize packs to select fans as well as holding a private meet-and-greet for random lucky fans chosen throughout the game.  You can grab a $16 box seat ticket right here. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.  We can only hope that Constantine doesn’t escape from his icy gulag prison in an attempt to thwart the Muppets and steal Brooklyn’s own Crown Jewel, the prized baseball diamond.
