Most of you know Knitting Factory as a staple of the New York music scene since the late 80s, hosting concerts by your favorite indie bands in one of the last real rock and roll clubs in the city. But we want you to know that the Williamsburg club is more than a music venue! It’s actually the perfect place for your holiday celebrations, along with its sister restaurant, The Federal. Whether you want to host the annual office party, a fundraiser for your nonprofit, or a large family gathering, the Knitting factory and The Federal will bring on the cheer for you and your crew.
The Knitting Factory at 361 Metropolitan Ave. has capacity for 100 people in the front room, and 300 people for the back room. You can rent either or both. The back room features a stage for a full band, or large group of carollers. Each has projector capabilities for setting up embarrassing slideshows of your guests, some classic holiday movies, or the ever-reliable Yule Log. You’ll get bartenders, production, security, coordinator, and coat check included, so forget about last minute A/V-related panic attacks and chaotic coat mountains. Prices vary based on the room and any extra services you purchase (such as catering), so you can adjust amenities for your budget.
If you’re looking for a party venue where the food serves as more than a sham-wow for the alcohol in your guests’ stomachs, than The Federal is for you. It’s right next to Knitting Factory, in a converted early 20th century carriage house. You can enjoy locally-sourced food in a cozy vibe, with a fully stocked bar (see the menu here). It’s great for a smaller shindig, as it accommodates 50 people sitting or 100 standing. You get full staff service and an audio system so you can play your holiday tunes. Note that you can get catering from here if you choose to rent space at the Knitting Factory! Full buyouts for the space range from $1,500 to $3,000.
