Canned food drive at… Babeland?

It only looks like a baby's bath toy.

We love a good food drive and all but somehow, schlepping a reusable tote full of Goya beans to Babeland seems a little…unsexy, maybe? Isn’t it a place you sort of guiltily duck into with your sweetie after you’ve had a few? Not this weekend: today through Sunday, our friends at Babeland —not that we know them that well—are offering 25 percent off everything in the store to anyone who brings in five or more cans to donate to the Food Bank for New York City. (And no, don’t feel like your good deed is diminished by the fact that all you really wanted was a deal on a Big Daddy Pump.) If you don’t bring cans (miser), you still get 20 percent off everything as part of a weekend-long stoop sale on that little stretch of Bergen Street between Flatbush and Fifth Avenue. Discounts all weekend at Bump, Eponymy, Private Stock, Bergen Street Comics, Ride and others.

Babeland, 462 Bergen St., 718-638-3820 www.babeland.com
