This weekend: freaks come out in Coney Island, punk rope for all, cherry blossom fest

1-8pm:
The freaks come out: Donny Vomit and The Coney Island Circus Sideshow open for the season at Sideshows by the Seashore. $7.50 admission.

4pm: Listen to the new Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings album three days before it’s official release at Sound Fix’s listening party. Chances to win free tickets, an autographed LP, other stuff. Free.

4pm: Never mind the buttocks! The Punk Rope folks give a free jump roping clinic at the McCarren Park track. Ropes provided, or buy one for $5.

10pm: The massive pillow fight may be in the city (3pm, free), but the after party moves to BK’s own Bell House. $15

SUNDAY
7pm-10pm: Looking for a roommate, but tired of Craigslist flakes? Find one that doesn’t suck at the 2nd Roommates Wanted event at Alligator Lounge (which means free pizza with purchase of beer). Free.

ALL WEEKEND
Take advantage of the weather and view the start of cherry blossom season at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden (boasting the largest collection outside of Japan). $8 admission.

Ecstatic = artists take over a former convent with installations, screenings, workshops and performances at St. Cecilia’s Parish, Greenpoint. Free.

    Don’t forget about the Cherry Blosson status map on the Brooklyn Botanical Garden (bbg.org) website…. there are only a couple trees right now. But there’s also daffodils and the tulips are starting to appear.
