This weekend: Chili Takedown, tweed bike tour, readings for hungy girls

SATURDAY
10am-5pm:
last chance to enjoy the brooklyn flea outdoors this season before it moves indoors to one hanson

1pm: enjoy an hour-long chamber music concert on a floating barge at the foot of the brooklyn bridge. free.

6:30pm: the zero film fest closing party features all flowers in time from tarnation’s jonathan caouette, starring chloë sevigny. plus musical guests school of seven bells, natureboy and a dj set from bear in heaven. bonus: free booze! nutroaster studios, $12 adv/$15 door.

7pm: melisser elliott celebrates everything vegan + signs copies of her vegan girl’s guide to life at williamsburg’s champs bakery

7:30pm: amy mccoy gives tips on how to eat well on a tight budget from poor girl gourmet at word. cash donations to the greenpoint food pantry encouraged. free.

SUNDAY
11am:
don vintage attire (particularly tweed) and bike with other dapper folks at the big apple tweed fall ride. ends at flatbush farm for a tea-social. meet at brooklyn’s grand army plaza, $10.

4pm: sample as many as 30 competitors chilis at the brooklyn chili takedown. bell house, $15 (this will sell out).
