7-9pm: all things textile-y at the opening reception for the textile arts center’s artists in residence exhibition, free.
8pm: it’s too cold to go to rock-rock-rockaway beach, so get your ramones fix at the observatory with the documentary end of the century: the story of the ramones with filmmakers jim fields, michael gramaglia, and john gramaglia, who stick around for q+a. $8.
9pm: celebrate friday the 13th with the undead at an 80s-themed zombie formal dance at the bell house. $12 adv, $15 door (admission includes a drink ticket).
10pm-1am: sing along with common people! belt out your favorite tunes at the 90s sing-along. legion, free.
SATURDAY
8am-4pm: ikea’s bring a friend day features free breakfast + bogo lunch, $200 gift card giveaways, chair massages, and customized design advice.
3-11pm: dozens of musicians play every single beatles song… on ukulele (!) at the 4th annual beatles complete on ukulele festival. feat. leah siegel, alyson greenfield, the jingle punks orchestra, more. brooklyn bowl, $10 (bring a uke to play at show start, get in free).
5-7pm: swap yourself a new wardrobe while enjoying drink specials at the thrift collective clothes swap. abigail café + wine bar (prospect heights), $15.
6pm-2am: the 12,000 square-foot gowanus ballroom transforms into a multi-staged visual art and performance venue for the gowanus art fair: keeping it small. one-act plays, bands, burlesque, more. $10, free before 7pm.
SUNDAY
7pm: the crappy cinema council watches crappy movies and makes fun of them. this month’s theme: puppets!. public assembly, free.
9pm: djs from the long-running freedom party and the rub face off for an evening of dance party fun at brooklyn bowl, $10-15.
ALL WEEKEND
12:15pm: after breakfast, watch the breakfast club at nitehawk. then get brunch? $11.
