FRIDAY
6-9pm: overflow magazine celebrates the release of their summer issue at atlantic avenue’s de castellane gallery, free

7pm: read your favorite three-minute passage of a book published between 1990 and 1999 at word’s ‘literary karaoke: greatest hits of the 90s‘. free.

7pm: actor/director michael rappaport q+a at screening of his doc. beats, rhymes + life: the travels of a tribe called quest. bam, $12.

8pm: american analog set’s andrew kenny brings his band the wooden birds to the rock shop, $10 adv, $12 dos

SATURDAY
12-6pm: brooklyn based’s ‘total 4th avenue immersion’ is a bar and restaurant crawl all along 4th ave. free cups of brooklyn brewery beer at four bars, food specials at sheep station, brooklyn pizza and oaxaca, plus $1 off the skint’s bastille day bash!

2-6pm: celebrate bastille day with the skint! the hot sardines (hot off lincoln center’s midsummer night swing), accordion, burlesque, a baguette eating contest, free bulldog gin cocktails 2-3pm, $3 brooklyn brews all day, more! littlefield, $2 ($1 if you’re a card-carrying member of the total 4th avenue immersion).

2-6pm: 3rd ward’s makerbot 3d printer spits out rockets, ufos, more (all in 3d!) for their second makerbot make-a-thon. free (rsvp).

6pm: q-tip headlines the 7th annual brooklyn hip hop festival. brooklyn bridge plaza + tabacco warehouse, $15.

8pm: greg barris’s ‘heart of darkness‘ comedy night at union hall features john f. o’donnell, janeane garofalo, reggie watts and matthew johnson. union hall, $8 adv, $10 dos.

SUNDAY
11am-5pm (monthly thru oct): 14 trucks are set to show for the food truck rally at prospect park’s grand army plaza: bistro truck, cupcake stop, coolhaus, gorilla cheese, rickshaw dumpling, red hook lobster pound, more. pay-as-you-go.

4pm: 20-30 competitors vie for the best ice cream at the brooklyn ice cream takedown. bell house, $15.
