If you live in non-L train Bushwick, or have friends there that you like to visit, you know the annoyance of not being able to get off at the Central stop on the M train. Because of construction, the M has been skipping Central Avenue for months now. And true to its name, it’s pretty centrally located, and was a better place to be dropped off than Knickerbocker or Myrtle-Broadway. So good news, people I mentioned before! This afternoon, the Central stop is open for business again!
After five interminable months, the Central stop will reopen with a bunch of spiffy new improvements like covered staircases and artwork. How should you celebrate this illustrious occasion? Well, the Central stop is right above one of our favorite dive bars, the Gotham City Lounge. We talked previously about how much we loved it, and despite prices going up everywhere for everything, their $3 beer and shot special still walks this Earth. Is it the kind of place to make a specific trip to? Well, maybe. We prefer to think of it as you making a pilgrimage.
