You may not have much use for that ‘beach body’ as temperatures cool down (we really, really hope they do), but that’s no reason you shouldn’t keep looking for fun ways to get active. Mark Morris is making it easy for you this weekend, by offering free dance and fitness classes all day Saturday as part of their annual Open House!

From 9:30am-5pm on September 12, you can enjoy free food and free kids’ and adult dance classes of all kinds. There’ll also be local food vendors and a beer garden with live music starting at 4:30pm, as the day’s other activities draw to a close.

Beggars can definitely be choosers this Saturday, since there’s almost every form of dance offering imaginable: Afro Haitian, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Salsa, Belly Dancing, Kukuwa, Modern, and then some. There’ll also be some more traditional fitness-y classes, like Pilates and Stretch/Core. No prior experience required; this is just an easy, family-friendly day of activities for all, as well as a chance to familiarize yourself with all of the offerings at Mark Morris Dance Group (3 Lafayette Avenue).
