So OK, it snowed on Opening Day and maybe you had to wear your winter coat to Citi Field. And also maybe summer seems so far away that it’s more of a cruel joke than a scientific guarantee that at some point the Earth’s Northern Hemisphere will be tilted towards the Sun. But summer will be here at some point, and now to go along with the recent good news about CHVRCHES playing for free at Northside, we get news that Brooklyn’s truly cheap summer festival, Out in the Streets, will be returning to the Onderdonk House for another year.
Skip loading up a rented car for Bonnaroo with a bunch of camping equipment and drugs that’ll get you thrown in some godforsaken Southern prison when you get your car searched. That’s too expensive. Last year it was just $20 for a weekend full of Brooklyn bands in a nice green field on the Brooklyn/Queens border, and on the weekend of July 26 and 27, you can get a dose of that too. Just look at all the fun people had last year.
Plus, by heading to the border of the two borough, you can just quickly step over the line to fulfill your stated summer goal of getting some travel in. Easy!
