The rain has finally stopped, and the time to get in a few days of outside enjoyment before the rest of the city gets all sweaty is now. And what better way to show how much you love the outdoors then to attend the First Annual Ten Eyck Playground Block Party in Williamsburg? It’s got mural and face painting, plus free music from Javelin and Slavic Soul Party.

The event is tomorrow, May 31, at Ten Eyck Playground (Scholes Street between Bushwick Av and Waterbury S) from 2pm to 7pm. The day starts off with outdoor mural painting (bring the kiddos), and then the best part of the whole shebang: live music starts at 4.

Javelin will be playing live for gig, so expect to do a lot of dancing (or just tap your foot and bob your head up and down like I do in lieu of embarrassing yourself). They have a fun electronic sound that is upbeat and without a doubt a blast to hear live. Think about the bands you hear at the Brooklyn Night Bizarre, but this being outside and not quite as loud.

So if you’re into fun, we’ve got your Saturday plans already laid out for you.
