Another day, another free summer show being dangled in front of your face as a reminder that you gotta start making sure you’ve got your basketball jerseys ready to wear. We already knew CHVRCHES was playing one free McCarren Park show, and now we’ve got the news that garage rockers Thee Oh Sees will be playing the park for free, as part of the Northside Festival. Summer can’t get here soon enough (although we’re bound to wait for it due to calendric law).

The show will happen at McCarren on Saturday, June 14 at 2pm. Doors at 1pm and the line for the people without badges will probably start around noon, so either don’t be too hungover or sleep off the hangover on the line. As per usual, RSVPing for the show, which you can do on Friday, April 25 here, doesn’t guarantee you entry into the show if you don’t have a badge.

And since this will be the first show in New York since the band announced a hiatus last year, people might be excited. Even though that doesn’t come out to a very long hiatus, it’s not like we’re gonna complain, and people aren’t gonna pass up a nice sunny day in the park with some rock and roll music, so seriously, get there early if you insist on going for free.
