The government in Washington might be a broken, dysfunctional joke held hostage by right wing cranks, but here at home, our government just keeps humming along. Case in point: the campaign to name Fulton Street and St. James Place Christopher Wallace Way has picked up enough steam to get a hearing in front of Community Board 2 tonight. All filibusters must be a minimum of 16 bars tonight.
As you’ll recall, to actually get a street named after him, the first step is getting Community Board 2’s Transportation and Public Safety Committee to agree that yes, this is an awesome idea. So tonight, that very committee on CB2 will be meeting to discuss a number of things, Christopher Wallace Way included. Given that the agenda announcement links to Biggie’s Wikipedia page if people would like to find out more, this should be an interesting meeting.
The meeting goes down tonight at 6pm at St. Francis College (180 Remsen Street). This isn’t the normal meeting spot for CB2, but they expect a crowd tonight, so don’t dawdle if you’d like to be there to be witness to history and an actual functioning government.
