Join the Brooklyn-based Ape Army and earn '20 bucks and some drinks'

Brooklyn-based metal band Reign of Zaius is growing their Ape Army and are enlisting “artistic weirdos, theatrical nerds, cosplayers and heavy music enthusiasts” for the job. Their music, self-described as “homages to sci-fi, horror, and fringe pop culture” fits well with their campy apocalyptic vibe. Memorable song titles off their album “Planet Of…” include Orcs of the Nethermead and They Live, if that gives you a better idea.

Joining the Ape Army is a simple initiation process: You dress up and join the band on stage. According to a Craigslist ad Zaius posted seeking recruits, “Currently we can offer 20 bucks and some drinks to wear a mask & costume for about an hour.” While this does include “any warm body that can follow a small bit of stage direction,” ideally the group is looking for a more longterm human with a relevant skillset. Someone who can help with lighting, costumes, promotion, sound, etc. No resume required.
