Here’s a chance to get free pizza and complain about the C train

Hey there, C train rider. Are you feeling beaten down by life? Maybe it’s not life beating you down so much as it is the fact that you constantly have to ride the C train, which is the new G train when it comes to people rather hitting their hand with a hammer than walking down and waiting for a train. Put that hammer down slowly though, because we have something that will help: transit advocates the Riders Alliance are trying to figure out how to get a better C train this week, and they want your help in coming up with a plan. And in return, you get free pizza (and possibly a better C train, who knows?).

If this sounds familiar, you’re remembering correctly, because the Riders Alliance previously held a pizza ideas fest to dream up some ways to put pressure on the MTA. The way things work out in a world where Albany doesn’t give a flying fuck about the your mass transit needs means that sometimes you need more than one meeting though. Sometimes you need two or four or ten.

Either way, the meeting on Thursday, July 16 at 7pm at 375 Stuyvesant Avenue will be another opportunity for you to brainstorm with the Riders Alliance about how to pressure the MTA for things like more frequent service, better communication when said service is going haywire and how to get trains for the line that weren’t built in 1966. Plus, like we said, you get free pizza for helping plan the next campaign against the hated legislators in Albany. Sounds like a win-win to us.
