Celebrate four years of Freddy’s in Park Slope tonight (with free champagne)!

Although it feels like they’ve been there forever, Freddy’s has only been in Park Slope since 2011 after leaving Prospect Heights to make room for the Barclays Center and your Brooklyn Nets (currently lighting up the league in ninth place in the Atlantic at 19-28). Fortunately, Freddy’s has thrived as a great bar for cheap beer and cheaper good times, and they’re inviting you to raise a glass to their Park Slope rebirth at their free fourth anniversary party tonight. There’ll be music, champagne and barflies, all the things you need for a good party.

There’ll probably also be some speechifying and some other antics at what owner Donald O’Finn promised us would be “the best party in Park Slope.” Then again, what else do you need for a party other than rollicking whorehouse blues (which will come courtesy of Freddy’s regular Miss Ida) and a champagne toast? Especially when the champagne is free.

Freddy’s has been one of our favorites for years now, a go-to place for all sorts of weirdness from Pete and Pete showing up to watch the World Cup with you to Jo Firestone social experiments/shows to dog fashion shows and the frequently strange Obsolete Cinema Society. So you know if they’re throwing a party, it’s gonna be a good one.
