Guess this weather’s getting everyone geared up for the next season! Everybody’s favorite end-of-spring Brooklyn art series, Bushwick Open Studios, is now open for registration, and they’re asking neighborhood artists interested in opening their studios to the gawking masses to submit their proposals by April 27th if they want to be included in the print program (online-only registration is open through May 30th). Start readying those Bushwick tour buses, boys!

In order to participate in BOS, which is headed by non-profit organization Arts in Bushwick, runs from June 1st through the 3rd and encompasses all of Bushwick, your studio must be located in the neighborhood, or in the neighboring areas of East Williamsburg and Bed-Stuy, along with Ridgewood and Maspeth in Queens. There’s also a $35 registration fee, but you can volunteer to work the event for a minimum of five hours in lieu of payment. And if you’re a local artist, but don’t have the space to warrant a hoard of BOS visitors, there’s an Artist Seeking… section on the Arts in Bushwick website where you can create a listing and see if another artist reaches out.

BOS is a great opportunity for local artists to show off their work, and with all the music, art and performance going on that weekend, it’s super fun (and free!) to attend — Arts in Bushwick is also looking for volunteers to staff the event/help with pre-weekend prep, so email openstudios [at] artsinbushwick.org if you’re looking to lend your time to a good cause.
