This Monday! Free Public Enemy and Salt-n-Pepa show

What time is it??? About 1989.

Bass for your face, Brooklyn! Just when you thought Brooklyn’s summer concert lineup couldn’t get any better, along comes word from Marty that PUBLIC ENEMY is doing a free concert in Wingate Park in East Flatbush on July 30. With Salt-n-Pepa. Yeaaah boyeeez! Who knows what shape these people are in — Flavor Flav must be rocking a grandfather clock by now and Salt-n-Pepa probably describes their hair — but how could it not be the concert of the summer for those old enough to have It Takes a Nation of Millions on cassette? (Guilty!) In other breaking Gen X music news, Squeeze is performing with The Romantics on July 20 in Coney Island, and there’s some kind of Foreigner / Styx night on August 2, so brace for big LIE traffic that night. Also, the Village People on July 12. After the jump, the full schedule of Martypalooza summer concerts in Coney Island and Wingate Park in East Flatbush.
