You know that annoying food dilemma where you want to make a meal out of a number of different dishes from a number of different places? It’s similar to the “having your cake and eating it too,” phenomenon but instead you want to have a slice of cake from every place that sells cake and also eat them, too. It’s eaters like you who are bound to be in foodie heaven at the Taste of Bushwick.
Belly up on June 16 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at 24 Rock Street (the Boar’s Head distribution plant) and join in on the festivities for the second annual Taste of Bushwick. This one night only event is the perfect opportunity to get frisky with a smattering of Bushwick’s ever impressive eating and drinking scene. Over 25 of the neighborhood’s most popular bars, restaurants and shops will be eagerly awaiting to give you tastes of their best and newest treats, for just $35 for tickets bought before June 9, and $40 for tickets bought after.
Don’t let those numbers scare you: guys, it’s two-and-a-half hours of all you can eat and drink. ALL. YOU. CAN. EAT. AND. DRINK. Can I get an “Amen!” Signature cocktails from Cafe Ghia; Italian food sure to rival anyone’s nona from Fitzcarraldo; and an endless combination of charcuterie and cheese from Hops and Hocks are just a few of the places I am personally looking forward to.
Brokester bonus? The purchase of any general admission ticket includes entrance to the after party (no, it’s not at a hotel lobby but it will still be a slammin time!) Tickets for those of you only available for the after festivities can buy $10 tickets. AftPar (my abbreviation for ‘after party’) entertainment will be brought to you by comedian Daniel Koren and a TBA musical guest. Maybe R-Kelly!?! but probably not.
Similar to last year, all proceeds will go to support live theatre and performance at The Bushwick Starr. So invite your friends or come hungry solo, drink down and eat up for a cause and spend the night with some of Bushwick’s most delectable grub.
