People love dinosaurs. We can’t quite be sure why. Could be the mystery surrounding them and how they lived, could be Jurassic Park, could be a yearning for a time when the world was just one whole continent smushed together. Whatever your reason for loving dinosaurs is, dino lovers of all stripes can find some fun at the 100% Dino Party at the Silent Barn, on Sunday at 8pm. Dinosaur movie breakdowns from an expert, a (safe) live volcano and uh, dinosaur erotica are all on the docket for Sunday.
Why would someone put together a party like this? We asked organizer Theresa Buchheister, who told us that she was bitten by the dinosaur bug early, thanks to a wave of interest in dinosaurs and archaeology in the media in the late 80s and early 90s. Buccheister also knows dino erotica audiobook reader Pepper Laramie, who recorded many of the dino erotica books New York Magazine wrote about last year, and figured that the evening would be a great place for her to showcase her talents. Yep, that’s right, live dinosaur erotica. Try not to get too hot and bothered.
Of course, even if you’re not into dinosaur erotica (how you couldn’t be at least a little curious is beyond us), there’ll be plenty to entertain you besides Pepper. Friend-of-the-site Jo Firestone will host a special dinosaur version of her Bullshit History gameshow, burlesque dancer Angora Peaks will do a dino costume burlesque dance and strip for everyone and self-proclaimed dinosaur movie expert Jamie Carreiro will do a presentation on the many movies that have featured dinosaurs. Oh, and that (again, safe) volcano that’s being made will be spewing out soju. And all of that is just the tip of the meteorite, so unless you’re an old fossil, we suggest you check this out.
