Did a bomb go off in Bushwick? No, a bomb didn’t go off in Bushwick

Oh Twitter, you and your scurrilous rumors. After this not-at-all sensationalistic tweet from Kitty Pryde (also if you hate Bushwick, what are you doing here?) people briefly wondered if someone was finally taking the war on hipsters to its logical conclusion. The answer? No, not this time.

We wandered over to see what the fuss was about and found a couple of bored onlookers in front of Evergreen Ice Cream Co. breathing in smoke that tickled the throat a little bit, who told us the explosion was caused by a transformer fire. And this was confirmed by a relaxed fireman hanging out on a truck on the scene. All we can hope is that it doesn’t affect business at Evergreen today, because that place is great. The lesson, as always, is never to believe anything you see on Twitter.

On a totally unrelated note, you can follow us on Twitter at @Brokelyn.
