There’s always room for Frito Pie

Aside from Red Hook’s art galleries and Fairway, Hurricane Sandy also took a bite out of the food scene. But while we wait for the neighborhood’s chefs and restaurateurs to get their eateries back in order, here’s a chance to recreate their dishes at home. All Hands On Deck is an e-book cookbook benefitting Restore Red Hook and featuring recipes from the folks behind weekday brunch faves home/made, Fort Defiance and The Good Fork, among others.

Twenty bars and restaurants have pitched in, so if you’ve always wanted to know how top BK dive bar Brooklyn Ice House makes their Frito pie or how home/made makes their flourless chocolate torte, this is your chance. The book is only $15 bucks. The people behind the book are looking to raise $5,000 total, and are at just over $1500 right now, so hop over and download a copy why don’t ya?
