You’ve been waiting a long time (in blog years) to hear what free music will be accompanying the foodie-heaven filled Great Googamooga fest in Prospect Park May 19-20, and now we have the answer: are you excited to be singing “Rich Girl” in the park with hundreds of your closest friends? Get ready, becuase Hall & Oates will be there! And in complete non-ironic Brooklyn fashion, we expect everyone to go a little crazy over that. Other big acts include Fitz & The Tantrums, Bear Hands and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. See the full schedule below. UPDATE: The Roots have been added to Saturday!
OK, so the lineup isn’t a stellar knockout like you’d expect to see at the organizers other big event, Bonnaroo, but it’s surely good enough to get you out into the park for a nice, free spring weekend.

LEZ ZEPPELIN is AMAZING
UPDATE: The Roots just added to Saturday’s lineup (because ?uestLove is the Mayor of NY music scene and apparently a fried chicken expert)
I’m glad I arbitrarily chose Saturday tickets, I’m particularly excited to see Preservation Hall! I would enjoy singing along to Rich Girls IRL though… another time, another time.
Take my “how many have you heard of” quiz:
Only 1 band: You’re an ’80s washup (hi!)
2 to 6 bands: You’re a lifetime CMJ passholder
7 to 10 bands: You’re an editor at Brooklyn Vegan
11 or more: You organized the event
Bummer lineup! Guess I’ll just hum songs to myself while in line for food.
