It’ll be like this sometimes. Make sure you stay cool. via Facebook

Do you like ice cream so much you could spend all day around it? Well, probably, so let’s rephrase that. Do you love ice cream so much you could spend all day around it selling it to people while breathing in food truck fumes? Still a possibility, and if so, we’ve got good news for you, because ice cream truck masters Coolhaus are hiring for the upcoming season. And they pay pretty well for slinging ice cream.

Coolhaus is hiring truck drivers and event managers, for a gig that starts as part-time summer employment, so you’ll be working 15 to 25 hours per week. But, do a good job and it could become your full time gig. It sounds like driving the ice cream truck has a lot of moving parts though, with your job potentially encompassing a whole host of things. You’ll be setting up when the truck is parked at events, scooping ice cream or taking orders from people on the lines (which you can see can get rather long), managing Coolhaus’ social media while you’re on site and of course, you’ll have to actually drive the damn truck.

Still, for all of that, you get paid $13 to $15 per hour, and according to them, it’s a great way to break into the culinary world. And without culinary school, just like we’ve previously told you. The only thing Coolhaus asks of you is that they’d prefer you have a Mobile Food Vendor license or NYC Food Handler permit, but if you don’t and they hire you, they’ll help you get those right quick. So, what are waiting for? Email amber [AT] eatcoolhaus.com and take your rightful place as ice cream gatekeeper.
