See Hannibal Buress, Chris Gethard for free at Lulu’s Thursday night

The thing about free comedy around here is that because there’s so much of it, and it’s almost always so good, you can get a little spoiled by it. Still, sometimes a lineup is so packed that you need to make sure you’re there. Take the upcoming show at Lulu’s (113 Franklin Street) on Thursday night. Hannibal Buress, Chris Gethard, Sunita Mani of the Cocoon Central Dance Team (and the “Turn Down For What” video) and even more comics will all be there making jokes, for free! Plus there’s free pizza with every drink, as per usual, and maybe there’ll be some jokes about Lulu’s struggle with its landlord.

Why is this veritable Superfriends of comic talent coming together Thursday at 8pm? To help raise money to fund filmmaker Heather Fink’s debut feature, Inside You. Fink figured that instead of relying on just the Kickstarter, she’d also bring together a bunch of her funniest friends to make you laugh, and then while you laughing, suggest you throw her a couple bucks. It’s a good strategy, especially when you get people as good at making you laugh as Hannibal Buress and Chris Gethard are, and throwing Sunita Mani, someone who can dance so hard she destroys buildings.

Still, if you can’t make it to the show on Thursday, there is a Kickstarter for the the romantic comedy, in which a couple switches bodies (you know, normal couple stuff), has a Kickstarter with rewards like toilet paper, ham wallets, bologna jackets and treating you like a normal adult and just giving you the occasional update on how the film is going. So maybe think about donating, if only because you trust that all these great comics wouldn’t stand behind a piece of shit movie, even if their friend made it.
