Reasons to leave Brooklyn: Bjork at the Shed

A new non-profit venue is coming to Manhattan: the Shed. This arts center will open in 2019… but it’s exact open date has yet to be revealed. This is the 8th show to be announced at the new space.

do NYC reported that Bjork is set to perform at the Shed.

Not only will Björk perform in the brand new space, but this will be the world debut of her brand new concert production, one she calls her most elaborate yet, and New Yorkers will be among the first in the world to see it. According to UPROXX, the new set-up will feature “an all-female Icelandic flute ensemble, a harpist and percussionist, direction from Tony Award-winner John Tiffany, and costume and set design from industry icons Iris Van Herpen and Chloe Lamford.” This is the first time the electronic icon has ever collaborated on production with performers.

Bjork herself said, “I am very excited to announce that i will be part of The Shed’s opening season in manhattan next spring. this winter i will prepare my most elaborate stage concert yet, where the acoustic and digital will shake hands, encouraged by a bespoke team of collaborators.”

So, how can you get in on this? Become a member of the Shed, which includes early access to tickets, plus your membership supports local artists.
