Our pals at Blank Slate are hiring!

Ever since you’ve learned about it, you’ve loved the idea of working in Brooklyn’s Tech Triangle. First because you love triangles, second because you want a job in a growing industry. Well! It’s your lucky day, because web development All-Stars Blank Slate are adding people to their team at this moment. How do you know they’re good? They handle all the design stuff for Brokelyn, among many other blogs, and we look great, don’t we?

Being in the Tech Triangle, they’re hiring a senior web developer for starters. They’re looking for someone with expertise in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery and WordPress on the front end, and Linux, Apache, Solr, MongoDB and MySQL on the back end. We don’t know what most of those are, but if you do, you might just be their woman!

If you don’t know HTML from XML, don’t worry, not all of the jobs they’ve got for you are about knowing how to get that one little piece of code out that’s screwing everything up. They’re also hiring a business development manager, an inside sales representative and a creative director. As the business development manager, you’ll be responsible for getting out there and pitching media companies on the things Blank Slate can do for them, so it’s a job you can get your Draper on in, since it takes good networking skills and the ability to nail a pitch. The sales rep will be responsible for hunting down leads on the advertising side of the equation so that the ads and sponsored posts look nice and come from good companies. And finally, as the creative director at the company, you’ll need great writing skills, but also be good at brand strategy and working with Blank Slate’s partners effectively. Whatever job you apply for, you just also have to be ready to work in a sweet DUMBO office with a view, which might be the hardest part of the job. We mean, who likes that?
