Overwhelmed by the onslaught of awesomeness coming at you courtesy of this year’s SummerStage lineup? Yeah, us too. Luckily, sussing out which free gigs to check out (and which ticketed events you’re willing to shell out for) is going to be easier this season, because, yes, there’s an app for that now.

Self-proclaimed hacker-journalist Dan Nguyen wanted to make an easy way to browse SumemrStage events this year, so he created SummerStageLove, an unofficial app that lists and links all of SummerStage’s concerts, dance performances and screenings hitting city parks in the upcoming months. Nguyen also gathered up YouTube videos of the artists and performers to make browsing easier, linked venues to FourSquare and created a Twitter account to make browsing easier and more interactive, plus if you happen to miss Jimmy Eat World or Shaggy, you can fake check-in, pretend you were there and use the videos to cover your bases. Isn’t technology the coolest?

If you like Nguyen’s app, don’t forget to show him some love and vote for it for this year’s SummerStage HackApp challenge, giving SummerStageLove a chance to become the series’ official 2013 app, along with VIP status at the festivities this summer.
