Sandy took a lot of things from us. Our sense we were safe from nature’s horrible whims. Fort Tilden. The R train. But, as much damage as the storm did to Red Hook, that’s a neighborhood made up of some resilient mother- Shut your mouth. So of course they weren’t going to let Sandy take away the excellent Red Hook Flicks, which has just released their summer schedule. Those of you who hate gophers and love complicated men only understood by their women, well, get excited.
The movies will be shown every Tuesday starting July 9, at the Valentino Pier (Coffey Street and Ferris Street) at around 8:30pm, or whenever it gets dark. There’s something for everyone, from The Thing to Kung Fu Panda to the classic city adventure Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead. Be sure to go catch one, the series stil existing is proof of our eventual triumph over horrible, horrible nature.
