While Haiti was spared the worst of this year’s hurricane season, the island took on no small amount of damage, and at a time when it was still recovering from past disasters, including a devastating 2010 earthquake as well as Hurricane Matthew just last year. Haitian-born, NYC-based comedian Tanael Joachim thus decided to help his homeland with that longtime human cure-all: laughter. And money, generated from laughter by your attendance at Joachim’s “Jokes for Haiti” comedy show fundraiser, to be held at Union Hall next Sunday, October 29 at 8pm.
The lineup includes Aparna Nancherla of “Crashing”, “Master of None” and “Bojack Horseman”; Liza Treyger of “The Late Show With Seth Meyers” and of course Tanael Joachim, who’s credentials include FOX and AXS TV. All of the shows proceeds will be donated to the healthcare-focused non-profit Nova Hope For Haiti.
The show costs $10. Tickets are available online.
