Does your latte art have people so impressed that they don’t even drink the coffee you give to them, they just stare at it with tears in their eyes? And then is the coffee really awesome also? If so, it’s time to step up to the big time of the coffee serving game, because Gorilla Coffee is hiring baristas for its new store on Bergen Street set to open later this month. Aside from coffee skills, it’ll probably be good to be a labor relations expert, just in case.
Gorilla Coffee of course, is not only famous for its cold-brew to-go and that one weird walkout, but for great coffee, hands down. So if you’re going to work there, they need you to be able to work a Synesso or La Marzocco Espresso machine, be “competent” at latte art (but we imagine being a Matisse with that foam is better) and be able to actually talk about how coffee tastes, the way that wine snobs talk about it.
If you can do that, and are willing to work weekends as part of your 4 or 5 shifts per week, respond to their Cragislist post with your resume, references and reasons you’re the barista they’ve been waiting for copied in the body of the email. And keep your kooky labor relations ideas to yourself, ya goddamn Red.
