SNL‘s Sasheer Zamata has joked about giving her own Girls tours and so have other people. But now, we’ve got an update one year after On Location threatened us with a Girls bus tour, and it looks like we’re one step closer to people who getting a tour guide to take them to places like Prospect Heights and Greenpoint and the uh…Gawker offices. We’ve officially gone from the “idea” stage to the “unnamed sources at HBO confirm” stage. Next up: Some doofus with a camera wanting to snap your picture while you stumble home on your walk of shame!
The Daily News has the EXCLUSIVE rumormongering that HBO is planning a tour with On Location that would take fanny pack-wearing aunts of America on buses that will double park and idle in bike lanes around Brooklyn, all because some stuff nearby is on the teevee. Think we’re being a little jerky? Well, considering that tour mastermind Georgette Blau described neighborhoods like Greenpoint and Prospect Heights as “not exactly glamorous,” we’re just gonna be childish and say that she started it and can fuck right off.
The tour isn’t supposed to kick off until this fall, so you’ve got one more summer to sweat in peace and get an iced coffee at Cafe Grumpy before someone asks you if you know Lena Dunham.
