Get kinky, Bike Fetish Day is tomorrow

That's one way to show it
That’s one way to show it

Do you love bikes? Like, really love them? Uncomfortably? Oh, well, this event still might not be for you. On Saturday, the City Reliquary Museum in Williamsburg is welcoming bike lovers of all stripes gears to come on down and show off their rides and celebrate the cycling community at Bike Fetish Day. Just keep your pants on.

For those not familiar with it, Bike Fetish Day isn’t quite as kinky as it sounds. No one will be flogged with old rusty chains. Instead it’s a day for Brooklyn’s cycling community to hang out and celebrate cycling and the awesome looks of their bikes. And like any good community, they also have prizes for their favorites.

Tomorrow’s fetish day is the 9th one so far, and should provide plenty of strange bikes, nice bikes and strange and nice people who like to read their bikes. In addition to fabulous prizes, there’s also going to be a DJ spinning, folks showing off their BMX skillz, artists selling bike art, bike advocacy groups looking to help you out and barbecue. Although we’d recommend against eating too much if you bike there, it’s tough to bike with the itis. But of course, you all want to know about the prizes. The judging schedule is as follows:

2:45: best vintage bike

3:15: Best Mutant Bike

3:45: Best Commuter

4:15: Best Handmade

4:45: Best Small Wheel

5:15: Best Ugly Bike

5:45: Best in Show

How could you not want to see what the best mutant bike is?
