We’re not sure if we’ll ever stop getting excited about new bars, especially since more bars means more chances to avoid people we owe money. There’s a new bar, brewery and events space opening in Gowanus and they’re giving you a sneak peak this Saturday from noon to midnight. Threes Brewing (333 Douglas Street) is set to open later this month, and to get everyone excited they’re hosting Smite the Brite, which will feature their new IPA, food from Delaney BBQ and live bluegrass.

Threes Brewing was started by Justin Israelson from Sycamore Bar and Flowershop, so it makes sense that a space being used only as a bar wouldn’t quite cut it. Their new Single Tree IPA will be available to the public for the first time and they’ll have $10 64oz growlers for sale. There’s no cover or RSVP needed, but they only have 250 growlers available so preorder them here. Growler or no growler, the event will otherwise be free to hang out at, and since you won’t have to pay to get in, that’s more money you can spend on beer and barbecue, the two most important B’s we can think of.
