‘Tis the season… for an epic stoop sale! One of the markers of a great summer is scoring an unexpected but rad find at a sidewalk sale. One of my favorite summertime activities is wandering around my neighborhood of choice with a friend, picking up an iced coffee at a local biz and exploring what various stoop sales and thrift shops I find on my journey. It’s fun, low-key, and a great way to know your neighbors and small businesses.
On June 22, the indie powerhouse label Daptone Records is back with its Super Soul Stoop Sale and it’s going to be pretty epic. This sale includes loads of music for you vinyl aficionados. Sure, you can score a neat $5 find at any other stoop sale, but this sweet soirée includes live Daptone DJs, free beer (!), rare and limited editions vinyls, pizza, and loads of cool merch including tees, mugs, DVDs, and more. And even better, the stoop sale will be accepting credit cards. You don’t need to concern yourself with that pesky issue of carrying enough cash around.
Where can you dance, drink a free beer courtesy of Brave Brewing Company, buy a slice from TRAZE NYC, and pick up a sweet, sweet vinyl? The stoop sale will be held take place at Daptone’s Bushwick headquarters on 115 Troutman Street, from 4pm to 8pm. The weather on Friday will be superb for browsing and carousing: a partially sunny day with a high of 73 is perfect for milling around, grooving, mingling, and shopping.
So grab a few LPs for for $10 (double LPs are $15), a little 45 for $5, a t-shirt, mug, slipmat, DVD, and more.
