The mayor’s insistence that restaurants put their Health Department grades on the window is good for knowing how good your chances at throwing up when you get home are. But what if you’re already home, don’t want to cook, but also don’t want to throw up because of someone else’s gross cooking? An ambitious reddit user has just solved that problem, with a Chrome extension that will show you the health department letter grades of restaurants as you browse them on Yelp, GrubHub, Menu Pages and other food delivery websites.

The extension, made by redditor akilism, just requires a quick download, and then whenever you look up a restaurant on Zagat, Seamless, Yelp, GrubHub or MenuPages, the page will have a new box with the letter grade, as seen below.

The extension is free, and while it only works on Chrome, Chrome is pretty great. Obviously this doesn’t totally guarantee a lack of food poisoning, as everyone slips up at some point, but it at least tilts the odds in your favor. Akilism, you have our eternal thanks
