If you enjoy digging through crates and elbowing people out of your way to find something cool, we’ve got a great idea for you. On Saturday, head down to Carroll Gardens, where Black Gold Records (461 Court Street) will be having another one of their awesome Gold Dig record sales. Why is it awesome? Thousands of LPs and 45s will be priced at just a dollar. That’s right: records for $1.
Like the previous Gold Dig, the records on sale this weekend aren’t just crap Black Gold couldn’t sell and that no one in their right mind would buy. Since they need to make room, better to open their hearts and sell records for a dollar than just dumping them all in a dumpster and making people dig through that.
The digging starts at 10am and will last until everything is all gone (or until the store closes at 9pm), but make sure you get there early, because if someone gets that Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass LP or “Winchester Cathedral” single before you do, you’re just gonna die inside.

When I was younger you could get TWO records for a dollar – and have enough left over to get a slice and a sarsaparilla.
P.S. What’s a record?
