We have said it before, we will say it again, stop naming your babies Brooklyn.
Slate just released a map of baby names and their places of origin. The results were catastrophic, 36 out of the 50 American states have declared “Brooklyn” as the most popular female baby name starting with B. Naturally, New York’s rebellious tendencies kicked in and the state choose Brianna, as its most popular female baby name starting with B. Just look at that huge swathe of red.
The same trends were seen with less popular names like Madison and Charlotte, which had more popularity in states without those city names. Let get more original here people, or if all else fails pick another trending name like Khaleesi, from Game of Thrones.
