Because we can’t afford TV, it’s hard to keep up with all the reality shows in the lineup these days, even the ones with a Brooklyn connection. But the internet says there’s a popular (though critically disappointing) show called Work of Art: The Next Great Artist on Bravo, which is like a Project Runway for artists, wherein creative types compete for a solo show at the Brooklyn Museum. If you’re a fan or a starving artist, some good news: Bravo announced this week a second season is on the way, and it’s holding open  auditions in Brooklyn Sept. 25.

Casting calls are being held across the country over the next few weeks, and the only New York opportunity is at the Brooklyn Museum Sept. 25 from 10 am to 2 pm., according to the LA Times. The show looks for a range of people from “recent art school graduates to artists with gallery representation and pieces in the permanent collections of internationally recognized museums.”

The application form is a doozy: 14 pages seeking to get to know you professionally and personally, plus you’ll need to bring digital and hard-copy portfolios and other art samples. Hey, and maybe you’ll get to meet SJP if she’s not busy making another one of those rich people playing dress up movies.
