5 Beautiful Brooklyn Bars With Even Prettier Happy Hours

Look, we all want drink delicious cocktails for dive-bar prices in beautiful, not-so-dumpy pubs. Right? For all you snobby (but cash-saving) aesthetes, here you go. Bottoms up, babes.

This neighborhood favorite is all about those fancy light fixtures and that sexy art nouveau styling. Doesn’t hurt that their cocktails are to die for, either. The happy hour here is $5 beers and Mules from 5-8pm Monday through Friday.

Mad Tropical
Bushwick

The name says it all. This glorious Latin-inspired, plant-filled bar is like a boozy green cocoon, swallowing you up into a world of light, air, and slightly retro goodness. Their happy hour is 5-8pm every day. Cocktails are $6, drafts are $5. They’ve also got cheap tacos on Tuesdays.

Bar Lunatico
Bedford-Stuyvesant

With incredible live music (expect to walk in on a party rocking out to a Brazilian jazz trio), a rustic, intimate feel, and a lovely garden, this will become your new go-to. Monday-Thursdays, 4:30-7pm, you’ll get $2 off beer, rose, and cider, some cocktails for $7 and buttermilk chicken toast for $8.

Carroll Gardens

This beautiful, warmly-lit, old-fashioned-looking staple serves us deliriously delicious cocktails ($8), wines ($6), and beers ($4) during happy hour, which occurs Monday-Friday from 4-7pm.

This cozy (little) pub offers up what they call sustainable and wallet-friendly cocktails. From 5-8, they serve happy hour cocktails (check their board), which will likely be served in chemistry beakers (remember science class, folks?). With a simple setup and pretty lighting, it feels a bit like an apothecary-meets-dive bar, which is always a good thing.
