We’ve been waiting with bated breath for the opening of a Downtown Brooklyn location of Alamo Drafthouse, Austin’s über hip bar and cinema, since they first started the buzz about it some four years ago. And while there’s been no official opening date announced, it’s clear that Alamo’s 445 Gold St. address is due to cut the ribbon any minute now, because they’re hiring for all sorts of managerial positions! (Hint: you should take one of them.) Alamo, for those not in the know, is a food-and-drink theater in the vein of Nitehawk or the new Syndicated theater in Bushwick. But it’s famous for holding elaborate events, including a screening of Jaws on a lake or showing Snowpiercer on a train. No word on what elaborate events they’ll bring got Brooklyn, but if you get one of these jobs, you can maybe pitch some ideas.

Alamo Drafthouse is currently looking for a Private and Community Events Manager, a General Manager and a Theater Manager. Job descriptions vary, but any gig at the Alamo definitely means free movie tickets and deep food discounts, along with other perks and benefits.

Just think how this’ll improve your dating life! You’ll be the cheapest date around, not to mention save buckets of money on treating out: instead of going to fancy restaurants or expensive movie theaters,  you can just suggest the Alamo as a commuter-friendly destination where you’ll take in some of the finest indie and first-run cinema over a pint, as often as you like. Come Academy Awards time in 2017, you’ll have more movie savvy than anyone else (so you won’t need to fake it through your friend’s Oscar party like this year).

Apply today to work at the Alamo, and for goodness sakes, tell us when it’s opening already. The people who like the dinner in a movie experience but hate going to North Brooklyn (or Alamo’s only other New York location in Yonkers) will thank you.
