Season 2 of ‘Clench and Release’ is here and you can see it live

It was a rough winter for all of us, including Charla

We were big fans of Charla Lauriston’s first season of her web series Clench and Release, which if you haven’t watched, you should watch here right now. Obviously other people were too, because Lauriston parlayed that and all the other stuff she did into a writing job on the first season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If you worked your way through that too and still want some Charla, you’re in luck, because Clench and Release season 2 is about to drop, and you can see it premiere live and catch stand up from a bevy of Brooklyn comics next week at Littlefield.

Judging by the trailer, it looks like season 2 is going to be more of Charla’s foibles, with something occasionally approaching a triumph thrown in to make sure it’s comedy and not tragedy. It all goes down April 1 at 7:30pm, and in addition to catching the premiere of the second season on a bigger screen than you probably own, you’ll be able to see a lineup of fabulous female comics that Laurison was able to snag, like Michelle Wolf, Jo Firestone and Liza Treyger, all for just five bucks. They’ll be sharing their best and weirdest “only in New York” moments, and given how Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt was able to nail an authentic New York experience, we’re sure that these comics hand-picked by Lauriston will also be sharing similarly relatable experiences.
