Our miserly mates over at The Skint are out with their list of 22 New Year’s Eve events under $30, and if you still don’t have plans for Thursday night, there’s tons of fun stuff on it. In Brooklyn alone: a rock-and-soul blowout at the Bell House, anti-folk night at Pete’s Candy Store, two floors of acid pop at Union Hall, something called a Ukelele drop on 23rd Street, and loads more. We also want to put in our two cents for one of our favorite hangs, Sycamore, because it’s always a good time there, and on New Year’s Eve they’ll have live music, deejays and a champagne happy hour from 11:30 to 1:30 a.m. for no cover charge. Sounds like the beginnings of a very happy new year to us. And stay tuned for our Brooklyn Bowl New Year’s Eve ticket giveaway.
