Cornhole. To those of you raised on the coasts, it sounds like some weird, Urban Dictionary sexual slang. For those of you from Pennsyltuckyhio, you know cornholing is not as filthy as it sounds. It’s in fact a game where you toss bean bags into a board with holes in them. It’s fun, and since Brooklyn Brewery likes fun, they’re hosting, along with Five Hole Cornhole, their own tournament on the last Tuesday of every month, starting tomorrow.
The tournaments will all be composed of 32 players randomly assigned a partner, to make 16 teams, who will do battle at the brewery until only one team is left standing. That winning team will also win an astounding $200, making you one of Brooklyn’s highest paid athletes that doesn’t wear a silver and black basketball jersey. The atmosphere should be good too, since the Brooklyn Brewery guys know how to party, and there slated to be food trucks and music, along with Brooklyn beer, of course. Think you’ve got what it takes? It’s $15, but you get a beer with that, so email fiveholecornhole (at) gmail.com to sign up. Or, if you just want to sit back and watch the events unfold, heckle or be a cheerleader, it’ll only cost you five bucks.
Bags Away Brooklyn, every last Tuesday of the month, 8pm, Brooklyn Brewery, 79 North 11th Street, Williamsburg, $15 to enter/$5 to watch
