Not being a person who works in food or has any desire to ever have my picture taken, I asked Brokelyn’s resident wait staff correspondent Sue why someone in the restaurant industry would want to take advantage of this offer of free headshots. Besides prepping to be the next Mario Batali, she profers: “Maybe if you have a chef’s agent/website? If that’s a thing, and you have your own small business where you cook privately for families or cater or whatever, then people need to see that you’re not a disgusting weirdo, which you probably are.”
In that case, you restaurant workers should clean up and go check this out: Culinary Agents is offering the free photo sessions for restaurant professionals (both front and back of house) this Saturday at Williams-Sonoma in Midtown. Spots are limited, so make sure to RSVP; they want you to build a profile on Culinary Agents first too. There’s no bait-and-switch afoot here either, according to the invite: “We’re not doing anything fancy,” it reads. “Just providing hardworking tri-state F&B/service industry folks with some professional headshots for them to use when representing themselves online or in print…that’s all :)”
Also, you apparently get 20 percent off everything at Williams-Sonoma if you are a F&B professional. Bring an ID and proof of where you work. Photos will be done by SGB Photo.
