Greenpoint gallery spotlights social issues in art of protest exhibit

Greenpoint gallery Arete Venue launched a new exhibition, The Art of Protest, which “investigates the different ways in which artists choose to express their opinions on social issues.” The show includes art in the mediums of protest signs, video, sculpture, photography, collage, and drawing.There is also 40 artist-designed postcards that people can mail to political reps which are available for sale (all sales go to charity).

The exhibition opened on March 19 but will run through April 29. The show is curated by Elizabeth Cooper and the art showcases poignant work in various multimedias with an insightful look at the expression and forms of protest. Engage, view, discuss, activate.
