It’s officially the dawning of the age of drones and for a little proof, the NYPD utilized a drone for the first time on Tuesday to help track a 47-year-old man who barricaded himself inside his apartment on Court St in Cobble Hill.
Our use of a drone at yesterday’s incident in #Brooklyn, where an armed man barricaded himself in an apartment gave NYPD officers a view of the scene they would not have otherwise had. This technology, and the work of our great cops, resolved the job safely for everyone involved. pic.twitter.com/dtc0xxeEmX

Responding to a call of an emotionally disturbed man with a gun after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, police used a drone equipped with a camera to get a view of the man while negotiating with him to disarm and surrender. The gun turned out to be a fugazi (plastic gun) and the man underwent evaluation at a local hospital, ABC7 reports.
